It's the second of three preseason games for the Seattle Seahawks, and they continue the exhibition season by hosting the Dallas Cowboys on Friday night at Lumen Field. Last week the Seahawks bested the Minnesota Vikings in the first exhibition game of the year. Seattle quarterback Drew Lock - playing in his first-ever game at Lumen Field - threw for two touchdown strikes en route to a 24-13 win over the Vikings. Most of the Seahawks starters, including starting signal-caller Geno Smith, watched from the sidelines as Lock may have secured himself as the No. 2 early in the preseason. The Cowboys hosted the Jacksonville Jaguars at AT&T Stadium last Saturday and fell 28-23 as Jags starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence saw early preseason action. Lawrence did not look in preseason form, however, as he was picked off on the first drive of the game. Dallas Cowboys presumed third-string quarterback Will Grier threw two touchdown passes in a losing effort. Starter Dak Prescott was on the sideline the entire game and not even in shoulder pads. The Cowboys didn't play any projected starters on offense in coach Mike McCarthy's return to play-calling. The closest thing was right guard Josh Ball, who was filling in for Zack Martin while the six-time All-Pro held out in a contract dispute. Martin has since signed but isn't expected to play on Saturday.
